Hitachi’s Project Green recycling program is a hit!

Darren Kerber Hitachi Australia Pty Ltd Hitachi, Project Green, Sustainability, Environment, Classroom

Hitachi Project Green offers schools and offices the opportunity to recycle their old projectors and receive cashback for a new Maxell projector, Hitachi interactive flat panel display or Commercial Monitor.

The program has proven to be successful across Australia and we are proud to say that Kookaburra Educational Resources has been one of Hitachi’s biggest participants!

How does the Hitachi Project Green Program work?

Hitachi Australia introduced Project Green in May 2013 to offer greater value to customers and reduce waste from projector purchases.

Hitachi have always been dedicated to improving their corporate social responsibility. The opportunity to begin Project Green has allowed the company to play a big part in helping the environment.

Hitachi’s Project Green program is an opportunity to recycle your existing projector for your business or school and receive a cash-back amount of up to $400 on your next Maxell projector, Hitachi interactive flat panel display or Commercial Monitor.

This program not only benefits you by saving money, but also plays a big part in helping the environment by recycling machines that are no longer in use. There has never been a better time to retire your old machine and invest in a brand-new Maxell or Hitachi model!

As part of the program, up to 97 per cent of projector materials such as plastics metal and glass can be recycled, instead of going to waste. The projectors are processed by Hitachi’s recycling partner, Reverse E-Waste, to ensure they are handled correctly.

Since the project began, Australians have recycled over 1200 projectors, equating to 5.4 tonnes of e-waste!

Project Green will help meet customers’ environmental sustainability goals by ensuring they dispose of assets in an environmentally responsible way.

How can you get involved?

Get involved with these three easy steps:

  1. Register

  2. Recycle

  3. Redeem!

You can register your details at the Hitachi Project Green website and learn more about the process of recycling your projectors, how the exchange works and what you will get in return.

Once the recycling process has been completed, customers receive a certificate of appreciation for participating in Project Green and using this opportunity to project a greener future!

For customers who often replace multiple displays at a time, the program will offer both savings and peace of mind.

Stephen Creenaune, Deputy Principal, Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts said his school was due for various projector upgrades and the Hitachi Project Green Program offered an extra incentive at the perfect time.

“We have so far recycled seven old projectors and purchased seven new ones through Kookaburra and the Hitachi Green Program. It was a great feeling to not be committing the projectors to landfill and an added bonus to receive a check in the mail,” Stephen said.

You can save up to $400 on the cost of your new Maxell projector, Hitachi interactive flat panel display or commercial monitor. Did we mention recycling the projectors is free of charge?
